Netherfield Protest Against Car Parking Charges!

UPDATE 22/04/09

Gedling Borough Council have decided to make the first half an hour free in our local car parks from October to December as a result of the pressure which has been put on them from our local community.

This is supposedly meant to support our local businesses in the run up to Christmas. This is still not good enough! Vernon is still absolutely against the introduction of these charges and will continue to pressurise the Council to change their minds.

On Saturday 18th April residents in Netherfield joined a demonstration against Gedling Borough Council's decision to impose car parking charges

Around 200 people turned out to demonstrate against the introduction of car parking fees in Netherfield. On Wednesday 22nd April residents in Gedling will be presenting their petition to the Council which has around 8000 signatures.
