Gedling Borough Council invited members, ex-members and families of the Armed Forces to attend a special event to discuss ways that they can get more support from their local authority and service providers.

The event was held at the Richard Herrod Centre in Carltonand attended by a range of local services including the NHS, Forces support organisations and Gedling Borough Council members.

The event was part of the ongoing commitment to provide help to the Armed Forces communities set out in the community covenant signed in April 2013. As part of that commitment, the council and partners want to hear the views of members of the Forces including ex-members, families and local uniformed support groups.

As well as discussions and workshops there were displays from military support organisations and activities including a film presentation from the Arnold Local History group.
