Double Impact is a Drug and Alcohol Aftercare Service
They aim to provide a quality service for people who have experienced problematic drug and alcohol use, offering support which includes access to housing, personal development, training, education and employment.
Double Impact offers a city and county service which includes Gedling, Hucknall, Rushcliffe, and Broxtowe. They offer one to one support to people affected by drug and alcohol abuse. They develop a care plan which includes goals such as finding employment, building confidence etc.
As well as one to one support there are also drop-in’s where service users can meet others who are in a similar situation. Drop-in’s are held in a safe environment which is drug and alcohol free.
In the New Year there are courses at Hucknall and West Bridgford. If you are from Gedling you are more than welcome to attend as the courses are not specific to where you live.
The Course at Hucknall is about living without drugs.
It will explore contributory factors to relapse prevention including patterns of behaviour, alternative coping strategies, sleep depravation and confidence building.
The course starts on Friday the 1st of February and runs for 6 weeks. It starts at 10am-12pm and will be at All Under One Roof, Vine Terrace, Hucknall.
The course in West Bridgford aims to improve literacy through the means of digital camcorders, cameras and film editing software.
It starts Thursday 17th January for 10 weeks. It will be held at The Friary, Musters Road, West Bridgford.
